Why Write?

Why write? It's in my blood. It's in my thoughts--aagh!--I have a story running all the time. Will the dragons prevail? Will she recover her captured husband? How will they defeat the enemy? Will she ever find a cure for magic? Those are just the fictional ideas. Then there's real life.

My husband's job is in danger. My mother-in-law is very ill with ALS. Why don't my students come to class? Why? Why? Next the professional reasons drive me to write.

I've been writing about writing. I've been creating ways to teach grammar. I also like to explore how students learn and what makes them successful. All this takes creative energy.

Finally there's the spiritual reasons for writing. I can tell others about what I believe. I can lift others' spirit. Perhaps I can even please HIM.

Any reason for writing is enough. It's cathartic. It's relaxing. It brings us closer to the Creator--wow, what a gift! So just keep writing!
